Approximately 4 hours from Lemon Beach Resort, near the border with Ivory Coast, Nzulezu is a village built entirely on stilts above a lagoon. The whole village is essentially one long pier — called Main Street by the locals — with living quarters on one side and a school, community centre, and shops on the other. The village subsists on fishing, farming on nearby land, and tourism. Accessible only by canoe (about 20 minutes), Nzulezu offers a glimpse of how communities have lived for generations.

Early Morning
Depart Lemon Beach
Leave the resort early for the approximately 4-hour drive west towards the Ivory Coast border.

Late Morning
Arrive at Beyin
Arrive at the lakeside village of Beyin, the launching point for Nzulezu. Meet your canoe guide.

Midday
Canoe to Nzulezu
A scenic 20-minute canoe ride across the lagoon through mangroves to reach the stilt village.

Afternoon
Village Tour
Walk along “Main Street” — the single pier that forms the entire village. Visit the school, community centre, and local businesses. Meet the residents and learn how this community has lived above water for generations.

Late Afternoon
Return to Lemon Beach
Canoe back to Beyin and drive back to the resort, arriving in the evening.
